Page contents Page contents DoelHet EU-scorebord voor justitie maakt deel uit van het EU-instrumentarium voor de rechtsstaat en is belangrijk onderdeel van het Europees Semester. Het scorebord is een jaarlijks overzicht van indicatoren voor de efficiëntie, kwaliteit en onafhankelijkheid van rechtsstelsels. Het heeft tot doel de lidstaten te helpen de doeltreffendheid van hun nationale rechtsstelsels te verbeteren door objectieve, betrouwbare en vergelijkbare gegevens te bieden.Doeltreffende rechtsstelsels zijn cruciaal voor het uitvoeren van het EU-recht en voor het handhaven van de rechtsstaat en de waarden waarop de EU is gegrondvest. Ze zorgen ervoor dat individuen en bedrijven hun rechten volledig kunnen uitoefenen, versterken het wederzijdse vertrouwen en dragen bij tot een klimaat dat gunstig is voor burgers, ondernemingen en investeringen.Het EU-scorebord voor justitie is een van de informatiebronnen voor het jaarverslag over de rechtsstaat en wordt ook meegenomen in de landspecifieke beoordelingen in het kader van het Europees Semester - de jaarlijkse cyclus van economische beleidscoördinatie van de EU - in het kader van de faciliteit voor herstel en veerkracht en in het kader van de toepassing van de verordening inzake conditionaliteit met betrekking tot de rechtsstaat.
