Si articolava in quattro sezioni: panoramica delle finanze dell'UE in un determinato anno; entrate dell'UE; spese a carico del bilancio dell'UE allegati (spese ed entrate per rubrica, tipo di risorsa e Stato membro; saldi operativi di bilancio; recuperi e rettifiche finanziarie e attività di assunzione ed erogazione di prestiti). L'ultima edizione della relazione finanziaria è stata pubblicata per il 2018. La relazione è stata sostituita da Integrated Financial and Accountability Reporting, una versione sintetica della precedente relazione finanziaria (contenente gli elementi e i dati principali). Il grafico interattivo delle spese e delle entrate sul sito Europa, che contiene anche le tabelle scaricabili, fornisce dati dettagliati per Stato membro per il periodo 2000-2020.
