Η έκθεση περιελάμβανε τέσσερις ενότητες: επισκόπηση των οικονομικών της ΕΕ στο εκάστοτε έτος· έσοδα της ΕΕ· δαπάνες από τον προϋπολογισμό της ΕΕ· παραρτήματα (δαπάνες και έσοδα ανά τομέα, είδος πόρου και κράτος μέλος· λειτουργικά δημοσιονομικά υπόλοιπα· ανακτήσεις και δημοσιονομικές διορθώσεις· και δανειοληπτικές και δανειοδοτικές δραστηριότητες). Η τελευταία έκδοση της δημοσιονομικής έκθεσης είχε δημοσιευθεί για το έτος 2018. Η έκθεση αντικαταστάθηκε από Integrated Financial and Accountability Reportingμια συνοπτική έκδοση της προηγούμενης δημοσιονομικής έκθεσης (κυρίως με βασικά στοιχεία και δεδομένα). Στο διαδραστικό διάγραμμα δαπανών και εσόδων στον δικτυακό τόπο Europa, όπου διατίθενται και οι σχετικοί πίνακες τους οποίους μπορεί κανείς να τηλεφορτώσει, παρέχονται λεπτομερή στοιχεία για την περίοδο 2000-2020 ανά κράτος μέλος.
