Chronologie de l’action de l’UE

La pandémie de COVID-19 nous a appris que, même lorsque l’UE est confrontée à des crises sanitaires majeures, sa force réside dans son unité. La solidarité européenne, qui s’est traduite par le partage des fournitures médicales, le traitement des patients ou l’aide au rapatriement des citoyens, et par la reconstruction de nos économies, nous a aidés à protéger nos citoyens tous ensemble et à surmonter les phases les plus difficiles de la pandémie.

    Disbursements under Recovery and Resilience Facility pass €150 billion mark

    By 31 March 2023, the Commission has disbursed over €150 billion to Member States under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). In just over two years of existence, the RRF has been driving transformative reforms and investments across the EU Member States, fast-forwarding the green and digital transitions and increasing the Union's overall resilience.

    Agreement with BioNTech-Pfizer on the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines

    The Commission, acting with and on behalf of EU Member States, and vaccine developers BioNTech-Pfizer, have reached an agreement to better address Member States' assessment of evolving needs for COVID-19 vaccines. The amendment to the existing vaccines supply contract takes into account the improved epidemiological situation, while continuing to ensure access to the latest available version of the vaccine should COVID-19 variants of concern appear in the future.

    WHO declares end to COVID-19 as a global health emergency

    Welcoming the WHO announcement on the end of COVID-19 as a global health emergency, President of the Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU was now far better prepared to face future health crises, with new tools to react quickly to emerging health crises. She also reminded of the determined action at global, EU and Member State level, and of the resilience and solidarity of our citizens in overcoming the pandemic and its consequences.

    Commission and WHO launch landmark digital health initiative to strengthen global health security

    The Commission and the World Health Organization (WHO) have announced the launch of a landmark digital health partnership, whereby the WHO will take up the EU system of digital COVID-19 certification. It will establish a global system that will help facilitate global mobility and protect citizens across the world from on-going and future health threats.

    Final report confirms SURE was crucial in mitigating impact of pandemic and supporting recovery

    The Commission issued final bi-annual report on the implementation and impact of the SURE instrument. The report showed that the programme helped save millions of jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and, as importantly, supported EU businesses retain their workforce.
