Jacques Delors ukształtował wizję zjednoczonej Europy. Był gorliwym orędownikiem powojennej integracji europejskiej i jednym z architektów Unii Europejskiej, jaką znamy dzisiaj. Pełnił on funkcję przewodniczącego Komisji Europejskiej przez trzy kadencje – od stycznia 1985 r. do końca 1994 r. Okres ten odznaczył się głębokim zaangażowaniem na rzecz wartości, które stały się fundamentem obecnej Unii: wolności, sprawiedliwości społecznej i solidarności.
Jacques Delors zmarł 27 grudnia 2023 r. w wieku 98 lat.

31 stycznia 2024 r. przewodnicząca Ursula von der Leyen i inni goście wysokiego szczebla upamiętnili tego wybitnego Europejczyka, który ukształtował naszą Unię i wielce przyczynił się do integracji europejskiej.
Jacques Delors był wizjonerem, który umocnił Europę. Jego działania miały wielki wpływ na życie całych pokoleń Europejczyków, w tym na moje. Jesteśmy mu głęboko wdzięczni.

- Unia gospodarcza i walutowa
Koordynacja polityk gospodarczych i budżetowych, wspólna polityka pieniężna oraz euro jako wspólna waluta
- Program Erasmus
Każdego roku ponad 650 tys. studentów, praktykantów, uczniów, wolontariuszy i nauczycieli uczestniczy w projektach mających na celu uczenie się, szkolenie, nauczanie i wolontariat
