From 1 July 2026, the EU will introduce a temporary €3 customs duty on low-value parcels imported from outside the EU, mainly through e-commerce.
At the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk President von der Leyen reaffirmed that the EU will continue to stand firmly by Ukraine. She also announced the first disbursement of €3.2 billion in budgetary support under the Ukraine Support Loan.
The Commission is deploying rescue teams and other emergency assistance to Venezuela following the strong earthquakes on 24 June. Eight EU countries are sending assistance through the EU civil protection mechanism. The Copernicus satellite service has also been activated to support the response.

President von der Leyen welcomed the agreement between the US and Iran and called for its swift and full implementation. She also called for respect of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the implementation of a genuine ceasefire.
