Žaks Delors īstenoja savu redzējumu par vienotu Eiropu. Viņš bija aktīvs pēckara Eiropas integrācijas aizstāvis un šodien zināmās Eiropas Savienības arhitekts. Viņš bija Eiropas Komisijas priekšsēdētājs trīs amata pilnvaru termiņus (no 1985. gada janvāra līdz 1994. gada beigām). Šo periodu iezīmē dziļa apņemšanās panākt brīvību, sociālo taisnīgumu un solidaritāti — vērtības, kuras šodien ir mūsu Savienības pamatā.
Žaks Delors nomira 2023. gada 27. decembrī 98 gadu vecumā.
