The page header component ensures that users are met with basic information about the current page, in an easily recognisable and uniform design layout. It is always placed just below the site header.

All pages, except a site's homepage, include a page header. All page headers include the title of the current page and the breadcrumb. A brief summary of the page can be included too. How to build this in the Europa Web Publishing Platform (EWPP)
Certain types of pages include additional meta information. Get the code and specifications
The background is a solid colour by default (blue for EC core, white for EC standardised/harmonised, and white for EU sites). In some specific circumstances, other variants can be used (text box, text overlay, image overlay, thumbnail image). Try it out in the playground

The thumbnail variant is used in a few specific cases. In general, it should not be used.
