Prvi forum Global Gateway je potekal 25. in 26. oktobra v Bruslju. Udeležilo se ga je več kot 40 visokih vladnih predstavnikov iz EU in vsega sveta, predstavnikov finančnih institucij in podjetij, da bi razpravljali o svetovnih naložbenih potrebah, iskali rešitve in sklepali nova partnerstva.
Razprave so bile osredotočene na zeleno energijo in vodik, raziskave in izobraževanje, kritične surovine in prometne koridorje. Ob tej priložnosti so bili s partnerji z vsega sveta podpisani številni sporazumi in naložbene zaveze na teh področjih.
Na predvečer foruma se je prvič sestala platforma Global Gateway za dialog s civilno družbo in lokalnimi oblastmi. Ta platforma bo civilni družbi in lokalnim organom omogočila sodelovanje pri strategiji Global Gateway in uvajanju projektov na različnih področjih.

On her visit to Nuuk, President von der Leyen announced that the EU will invest €200 million in and with Greenland this year and the next. The EU, Greenland and Denmark also signed a new Joint Declaration to strengthen the common investment agenda, political dialogue and people-to-people exchanges.
A year-long campaign to mobilise investments in renewable energy in Africa, led by Commission President von der Leyen and South African President Ramaphosa, has secured €15.5 billion to support clean transition in Africa. This includes a Team Europe pledge over €10 billion.
At the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels President von der Leyen announced that the initiative reached the original target of mobilising €300 billion in investment two years ahead of the deadline of 2027. She also announced the launch of the Global Gateway Investment Hub to further support investors.
The new international digital strategy shows that the EU is a stable, reliable and open partner at a time when the digital revolution is reshaping economies and societies. It also reaffirms the EU’s commitment to building a rules-based global digital order, in line with its fundamental values.
