Každý útvar Evropské komise má řídící plán na příští rok. Popisuje činnost každého útvaru, a to podle priorit a strategických cílů, které stanovila Komise. Umožňuje také řídícím strukturám daného útvaru plánovat, sledovat a podávat zprávy o všech svých činnostech, zdrojích a personálních potřebách.
