Today is the European Day of Languages! And this year, it meets the future of Europe! Also linguistically - the annual poster we publish today is all about making your voice heard!
That’s actually the motto of the Conference on the Future of Europe. Right now, the Commission is encouraging the public to share and discuss ideas on the EU and to create or join an event.
To mark the #EDLangs, on Monday, 27 September, the European Commission also hosts a conference Languages in the European Education Area, which you can join online.
Background:
The European Day of Languages on 26 September is a well-established, annual opportunity to raise awareness around language learning and linguistic diversity. It started in 2001, organised jointly by the European Union and the Council of Europe. Many language and cultural institutes, associations, universities and, in particular schools, take part. With funding from Erasmus+, the European Union helps fund 80 local and national events around the European Day of Languages.
