Commissioner for Energy, Kadri Simson, will be this week in the United States to pursue joint work on the clean energy transition with our transatlantic partner in the spirit of the European Green Deal, and as part of the EU's efforts to reduce its dependence on Russian fossil fuels. On Wednesday, the Commissioner will be in Atlantic City to participate in the International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF) 2022 and in the U.S.-EU Energy Council High-Level Business Forum on Offshore Wind Power. She will also hold a bilateral meeting with the US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm, and speak to locally-accredited media at a joint press point. On Thursday, she will be in New York to participate in a public event organised by Columbia University on the EU's plans to tackle the energy crisis spurred by the Russian war in Ukraine. Later, the Commissioner will attend a business lunch with senior figures of the energy and finance sectors.
