Description

The Contracting authority requires access to timely, detailed, accurate, granular and complete financial data on all types of securities and markets. In particular, this call covers the Contracting authority’s needs of data on equity and debt primary markets.

The Contracting authority uses data to monitor and analyse developments on financial markets, with a focus on macro-financial stability, macroeconomic performance and public finances. The data serves as input to analysis within the Commission for monitoring purposes and as background for framing policy proposals, for reports to Member States and in economic publications.

The analysis of equity and debt primary markets requires extensive and granular data on issuances from all sectors (industrial; utilities; financial; government etc…) and deal types (for equity markets: Initial Public Offerings; Follow On Offerings; etc… For debt markets: corporate bonds; sovereign bonds; Asset-Backed Securities; Mortgage-Backed Securities; money Market etc…). It includes price and yields developments, the monitoring of volumes and specific characteristics of the issuances (ratings, collateral). The data will also be used for the production of rankings or market shares for different market segments (currency, maturity, rating, origin of issuer, collateral, etc.).

The Contracting authority will mainly use the data internally. However, the data may also feed (in an aggregated form, with acknowledgement of the source) into reports which are published by the Commission throughout the year.
