The goal of the investment is to promote rail traffic and connectivity with city centres. The upgrade of the railway station will ensure a friendlier infrastructure adapted to people with reduced mobility. The upgrade will reduce maintenance costs while ensuring a higher level of railway safety and passenger safety.

The upgrade of the Domžale railway station will include improving the tracks and railway equipment, building new platforms and an underpass that will be accessible to people with disability, improving the station building, creating parking areas and bicycle storage, and upgrading the safety and communication systems.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 11.67 million.

The estimated total value of the investment is EUR 18.53 million. The works started in July 2022 and will be finalised in July 2023.
