Thermal renovation of public buildings

The Recovery and Resilience Facility supports the thermal renovation of public buildings belonging to the State, with an envelope of 3.8 billion euros. Two types of calls for projects have been organised:

• one concerning higher education and research buildings, and universities including universities residences;
• one for all other buildings belonging to the State or its operators.

The projects have been selected based on two main criteria: the maturity (and rapid implementation) and on the energy performance and impact on energy consumption, with the objective to achieve at least 30% of energy savings on average. By the end of 2024, the Recovery and Resilience Plan will have supported 28.75 million square meters of buildings belonging to the State.
