With a EUR 243 million investment, the Recovery and Resilience Facility aims to modernise teaching tools and enhance learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects in Bulgarian schools.

The process will be supported by a National STEM which will support:

  • the organisation of trainings for teachers and other pedagogical professionals;
  • the development of teaching material and the set-up and maintenance of an electronic portal and library with publicly available educational resources;
  • the coordination and support of student activities in STEM fields, including participation in scientific olympic competitions.

The project also foresees the construction and/or renovation works for the national STEM centre and for training facilities for three regional STEM centres.

The investment finances construction and renovations works for STEM laboratories in 2008 schools.

An interactive map of the schools which are building STEM laboratories with RRF funding is available here.
