The EUR 245 million investment from the Recovery and Resilience Facility aims to modernise teaching tools and enhance learning in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects in Bulgarian schools. The process will be supported by one national and three regional STEM centres which will help develop content, tools and methodologies, support trainings of teachers and students, among others. The national and the regional STEM centres have already been established and the construction and/or refurbishment of their buildings is underway. The project also foresees the establishment of more than 2,200 STEM laboratories in schools, including high-tech classrooms, which will promote the digital literacy and teaching methods of STEM subjects.

The implementation of the investment is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.
