The EU Regulation 2018/1724 (Single Digital Gateway) requires the harmonization and complete digitization of 21 prioritized administrative procedures (e.g. requesting proof of registration of birth, applying for a European Health Insurance Card) across Member States by the end of 2023, enabling EU citizens to perform these procedures fully online with a cross-border application of the “once-only” principle. The national implementation of the Single Digital Gateway is overseen by a central governance team, consisting of the Department for European Policies, AGID and one representative per each macro-area of procedures, taking care of analyzing/re-designing the 19 administrative procedures valid in Italy (involving a panel of administrations and Regions), defining a national management framework for implementation and monitoring/tracking (“reality check”) implementation. The project has been completed on time: in december 2023 all the 19 procedures have been published on Public Administrations procedure portals and made available online for cross-border users also through the Italian SDG Service Catalogue.Additional links:https://monitoraggio.sdg.gov.it/enTop 100 recipients:The project involves 12 main central administrations (such as Ministry Of The Interior, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry for Universities and Research, the National Institute for social security service, Revenue Agency, the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce) and local administrations (Regions and Autonomous Provinces) ReferenceM1C1Project locations Italy Project websitehttps://servizisdg.gov.it/
