Copyright: University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty This project will provide research evidence on the key barriers to wider adoption of biodiversity-friendly food initiatives and develop solutions to increase their market share. The fellow will conduct interdisciplinary research by combining experimental and behavioural economics with conservation science and consumer and management studies. The project includes three research objectives:Identify critical success factors and barriers to the development of biodiversity-friendly food certification and businesses in Europe.Explore the potential of alternative food systems to accelerate the emergece of biodiversity-friendly food initiatives and farmers' enrolment.Identify effective strategies for communicating biodiversity to consumers in order to best empower them to make informed food choices and to change purchasing patterns.Innovative labelling of products with high conservation standards is a promising market niche for premium organic products and can complement existing conservation strategies in protected areas and High Nature Value farmland. A policy brief with recommendations for their development and guidelines for conservation practitioners will ensure a wide dissemination and faster uptake of results in policy and industry. The Recovery and Resilience Facility contributes EUR 154,000, the total value of the investment. The project started in July 2023 and should be finalised by June 2026.Additional Links:https://www.bf.uni-lj.si/en/research/research-projects/2023101312362040/ Top 100 recipientsUniversity of Ljubljana (UL) projects:Digital University of Ljubljana: purchase of ICT equipmentRRP Open Science - Get to knowDigitisation of livestock databasesModernisation of the PŠP RRPBasic skills RINApplication of augmented reality in educationNatural resources and food ULDigital and Green higher education study programmes of ULInnovative learning environments ULSustainable Space ULEnvironmental and digital literacy ULEnvironmental Technologies ULDigital Future ULLifelong Learning and Microcertificates ULEcosystem development ULSustainable ULSustainable and Digital ULFaculty of Medicine UL Vrazov Square CampusNew building of UL, Veterinary FacultyConsortium of Project Offices-KRPAN ReferenceC3.K8.ICProject locations Slovenia EU contribution€154 000 Project websitehttps://www.bf.uni-lj.si/en...
