Green fuels for transport and industry

With an allocation of EUR 23.5  million (approximately DKK 175 million) from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, the investment “green fuels for transport and industry” is the second of the four missions of the research programme to accelerate the development of climate-friendly technology solutions.

The objective of this mission is to develop new solutions to create new green fuels, including green hydrogen, and demonstrate how Power-to-X systems may be integrated in the overall energy system. Investing in targeted research, development and demonstration efforts to bring currently costly green fuels to a level of technological maturity is expected to facilitate commercial use and deployment of such technologies at a larger scale. The mission has - jointly with the CCUS mission - organised a conference that took place in January 2023. A first call for projects has brought about 9 projects under three workstreams in total.  The overall deadline for the mission is mid-2026.
