Germany aims to improve public investment activity, especially on the municipal level. To this end, public sector consulting firm PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand offers consulting services to municipalities and other public entities. The measure consists of two submeasures:
1. support in navigating the funding programme landscape, as well as to improve the calibration of public funding programmes to the needs of municipalities and other public entities;
2. IT-outfitting of schools, for which PD shall develop consulting concepts and advise school authorities in particular on the operation, maintenance and security of IT systems.
PD is owned mostly by the federal state, the Länder, and local authorities.
The implementation of the measure shall be completed by 31 August 2026.
