Copyright: Slovene government The objectives of the reform are to implement a new social security pillar focused on the specific needs of those requiring long-term care and ensuring equal access regardless of socio-economic status. A special law shall ensure more diversified financing sources, notably with the introduction of compulsory long-term care insurance. The main part of the reform is the establishment of an integrated long-term care system in Slovenia through the Long-term Care Act, which was adopted by the National Assembly in August 2023. The Act will be implemented gradually, with first elements in January 2024 and last ones by July 2025. The Act is complemented by a set of by-laws, regulating specific areas such as minimum technical conditions and the standard of residence and staffing conditions. The reform also includes the establishment of a national model for the monitoring of the quality of treatment by long-term care providers. The National model for monitoring the quality of treatment by long-term care providers was adopted in December 2021. It monitors the following indicators: number of injuries, number of fall injuries, number of deviations when administering medicines and number of users with infection with multiple resistant micro-organisms.More information on the reform can be found at the following links:Spremljanje-kakovosti-in-varnosti-zdravstvene-obravnave-v-socialnovarstvenih-zavodih-20.-12.-2021.pdf (gov.si)C4K15 - Dolgotrajna oskrba | GOV.SI ReferenceC4.K15.RAProject locations Slovenia Project websitehttps://www.gov.si/zbirke/...
