Environmental sustainability and nature-based solutions – climate-resilient measures in the land use sector

This investment, which receives EUR 8,5 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, funds development and training projects related to precision forestry and supporting climate change resilience and biodiversity.

The funded projects can tackle the following issues:
1) develop forest management and treatment methods that support climate change resilience and biodiversity, also taking into account the needs related to continuous cover forestry,
2) improve value creation or the efficiency of the chain of forestry measures by developing new innovations that could be utilised nationally and globally, while supporting climate change resilience and preserving biodiversity, or
3) promote the practical implementation of forestry practices that support climate change resilience and biodiversity through training.

A total of nine projects were selected through open calls for funding as a part of this measure which are being implemented between 2022-2025.

All projects are expected to be completed by December 2025.
