The project consists of converting natural gas-powered pusher furnaces, which are essential for the reduction of molybdenum dioxide, to furnaces using renewable energy sources (certified green electricity). This represents a decisive first step towards the decarbonization of molybdenum reduction and can be seen as a flagship project for "Sustainable molybdenum production with green electricity". The annual greenhouse gas emission savings are expected to amount to 729 tons after project completion. The project is currently in the construction phase.
