Investment in soft mobility (National Plan of Cycle Path) (Mission 2 – Component 2:  Investment 4.1)
Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the construction of at least 565 km of cycling lanes in metropolitan areas and at least 746 km of tourist cycle paths. Cycle paths shall facilitate first-mile and last-mile commuting – connecting locations in metropolitan areas to nearby railway or metro nodes, or universities to nearby railway or metro nodes. For this investment, the RRP provides EUR 467 million at the national level.

As part of this investment, A new section of the cycle path will be built along the Maso Smalz street with the aim of connecting the gravel cycle path with the cycle/pedestrian route along via Sanseverino for an overall length of approximately 400 metres. Two 175-metre one-way bidirectional cycle lanes will be built towards the gravel and a 225-metre bidirectional cycle lane will be built to via Sanseverino. This project is financed by the Recovery and Resiliency fund with EUR 222.947
