Comprehensive plan to boost the social economy: ModaRE

ModaRE is a Caritas social project that manages the collection, reuse, preparation for recycling, donation and sale of textiles.

Based on a circular economy, they are leaders in social job creation, efficient management of textile recovery and recycling processes and economic self-sufficiency.

Under C23.I6  of the Recovery Plan of Spain, ModaRE has got support to fund a number of innovations, such as life-cycle analysis to find out the impact of their recycling actions, the installation of sensors in the container fleet to optimise collection routes and save greenhouse gas emissions, a Social Delivery App pilot project to lift the stigma of social support in kind, part of the digitalisation of the collection process and interactions with social services.

Other aspects of the project have got support from other EU funding sources.
