The goal of the project implemented by the Faculty of Information Studies is to prepare and update higher education study programs in the field of computer science and informatics.

The half-year education, based on the higher education professional curriculum, is available free of charge to all applicants. Upgrading digital skills at post-secondary level increases the competitiveness of participants and helps them enter the labor market or improves their work processes in the current workplace.

The training takes place according to the hybrid model, it is conducted in the afternoon and during the weekend, which allows interested people from all over Slovenia to participate. In the "Programming and Application Development" study program, 75% of participants are female, which increases the participation of women in STEM fields.

The project aims to create a combination of content that will enable graduates to enter the labour market early and encourage them to pursue lifelong learning, which is essential in this field.

The project is divided into two thematic strands. The first thematic strand, Digitisation, Internet of Things and Industrial Automation, is linked to the higher education programme Informatics in Modern Society.

It will focus on the Internet of Things and industrial automation as core subjects, while supporting subjects will cover the basics of programming, information systems and cyber security. The final part of each training cycle will include practical training in a real-life environment in public organisations or in industry.

The second thematic strand, Programming and Application Development, will be linked to the higher education programme Computer Science and Web Technologies. The core content of the educational cycles will focus on the areas of programming and application development, while the supporting content will cover the basics of informatics, algorithms and data structures and databases. The final part of the training will include the preparation and implementation of a project to develop a software solution that reflects the needs of the real environment.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides EUR 1.6 million, the total value of the investment.

The project started in July 2022, and will be completed by the end of 2025.
