Additional 100 Gbps backbone optical connections - Digitalisation of education, science and sports

The aim of the project was to provide ultra-capacity communication backbones connecting the data hubs of the Slovenian Academic and Research Network (ARIS).

At least 40 long-distance optical connections of 100 Gbps were permanently deployed, which are expected to cover at least 75 % of all connections between public institutes.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provided funding of EUR 5.2 million, while the total value of the investment is EUR 6.4 million. 

The project started in June 2022 and was finalised in December 2023.
