The objective of the project is to strengthen the potential of project offices as a supportive environment for raising scientific excellence, interdisciplinaryity, international involvement and performance of Slovenian researchers in Horizon Europe calls and other centralised European programmes.

The project is implemented by a consortium of five partners: National Institute of Chemistry as the leading consortium partner, National Institute of Biology, Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Institute of Contemporary History and Institute of Metals and Technology.

In total, the consortium partners bring together 970 eployed researchers and support staff. The expected impact of the 5xPRO project on the Slovenian research area is therefore significant. Through project activities, the consortium members aim to raise the quality of applications by 2% compared to Horizon 2020 and submitting 100 applications to central calls each year, strengthening the skills of more than 1,300 employees and creating a new structure to strengthen project applications.. The consortium is also planning to create 9 new full-time jobs and carry out 42 expert events.

The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides funding of EUR 1.24 million, while the total value of the investment is EUR 1.25 million. The project started in April 2023 and will be completed by June 2026.
