Contexte

Depuis mai 2018, avec l’entrée en vigueur du règlement général sur la protection des données, toutes les entreprises opérant dans l'UE, quel que soit leur lieu d'établissement, sont soumises à un seul ensemble de règles en matière de protection des données.

Des règles plus strictes en matière de protection des données signifient:

  • que les particuliers ont davantage de contrôle sur leurs données à caractère personnel;
  • que les entreprises bénéficient de conditions de concurrence équitables.

En juin 2020, la Commission européenne a publié un rapport d’évaluation sur le règlement général sur la protection des données (RGPD).

RGPD – l’étoffe d’un succès

Deux ans après l’entrée en vigueur du RGPD, le règlement est un franc succès.

Background

As of May 2018, with the entry into application of the General Data Protection Regulation, there is one set of data protection rules for all companies operating in the EU, wherever they are based.

Stronger rules on data protection mean

  • people have more control over their personal data
  • businesses benefit from a level playing field

In June 2020, the European Commission published an evaluation report on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
