There are various opportunities to contribute to EU law-making as it evolves – from the preparation phase through to proposals for new laws and evaluations of how existing laws are performing.Citizens can contribute to public consultations and various feedback mechanisms throughout the policy cycle and consult related documents as well as contributions received.Public Consultations and feedback is a single portal for citizens and stakeholders to give their views on the Commission’s initiatives and contribute to the decision-making process. Using the European Citizens’ Initiative, EU citizens can call on the European Commission to propose legislation on topics within its competences. The Citizens’ Engagement Platform serves as a dedicated space for citizens to engage in European-level discussions regarding important upcoming EU proposals that affect us all.Increasing the participation of citizens and stakeholders in the law and policy-making is an important goal of the Commission's Better Regulation agenda.
