CloseThis event has ended. In the era of globalization, language barriers pose significant challenges to communication and collaboration across borders. Machine Translation (MT) has emerged as a transformative technology, offering rapid translation solutions to bridge linguistic gaps. However, the output quality of MT often falls short of human standards, necessitating human intervention in post-editing. This event will explore the current landscape of post-editing machine translation and will focus on its future trajectory. Throughout the event, professors, researchers, students, translators, and business professionals will collaborate to exchange insights and experiences regarding post-editing. They aim to expose the challenges encountered in the current job market while also envisioning the future trajectory of this transformative shift in the translation process. The event will be divided into two parts: a keynote speech in English, accessible both in-person and online via Zoom, followed by three workshops in Romanian led by translators from European institutions such as the European Parliament, European Commission, and the Court of Justice. Participation in the event is free of charge, but registration is compulsory. The registration deadline is 8 March 2024. More details about the programme and the speakers/workshops organisers are available on the official website of the event. translation Friday 15 March 2024, 09:30 - 17:00 (EET)Cluj-Napoca, Romania Practical information WhenFriday 15 March 2024, 09:30 - 17:00 (EET)WhereFaculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University Cluj-Napoca, Romania Who should attendprofessors, researchers, students, translators, and business professionalsLanguagesRomanian, EnglishPart ofTranslating Europe WorkshopsWebsiteProgramme Related events26Sep2025Conferences and summitsNuit des languesLuxembourg01-30Sep2025Info daysEuropean Day of Languages across the EU15-16Nov2024Training and workshopsExpolingua language fairBerlin, GermanySee all
