Roma platform meetings 18th European Platform for Roma Inclusion - Brussels, 2 October 2025The event was streamed live on 2 October 2025 from 9:00 AM CET.The 2025 European Platform for Roma Inclusion (EPRI) took place five years after the adoption of the EU Roma Strategic Framework and at the halfway point of its implementation. Taking place after the completion of the 2023-2025 reporting cycle on the implementation of the national Roma strategic frameworks and before the adoption of the Commission’s 2026 report on implementation, it took stock of the progress achieved so far and identify the most important challenges that still need to be tackled in order to help ensure that the EU collectively reaches the objectives of the EU Roma Strategic Framework by 2030. The discussions built on the previous two editions of the EPRI by enlarging the perspective to encompass all seven objectives of the EU Roma Strategic Framework. In this context, the 18th European Platform for Roma Inclusion (EPRI) brought together all relevant actors: political decision-makers at EU, national, regional and local level, funds managing authorities, as well as representatives of Roma and pro-Roma civil society. It addressed the topic “Insights and lessons after five years of implementing the EU Roma Strategic Framework – Progress made and remaining challenges”, with the aim of identifying persisting issues and challenges, identifying concrete solutions to tackle them, and contribute to making EU and national Roma policies more efficient with a view to achieving the 2030 targets. The European Platform for Roma Inclusion (EPRI) pursued the following objectives: Bringing together the various strands of the discussion on promoting Roma equality, inclusion, and participation, while also enhancing the effective use of EU funds to achieve tangible and sustainable progress for Roma communities;Presenting the findings of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights’ (FRA) 2024 Roma Survey, which provides mid-term data for assessing the implementation of the EU Roma Strategic Framework;Taking stock of the progress made since 2020—drawing on FRA data, Member State reporting, and the direct expertise of participants—and identifying the key remaining challenges and bottlenecks;Developing concrete, actionable recommendations to inform both EU and national Roma equality and inclusion policies, and to directly contribute to the Commission’s next report on the implementation of national Roma strategic frameworks.
