Youth centre - Blagoevgrad

With over EUR 32 million, the Recovery and Resilience Facility supports the establishment of 21 youth centres in Bulgaria, of which 10 located in district centres, 10 in non-district centres and one national focus centre. 19,500 young people are expected to take part in the activities of the youth centres by June 2026.

The project "Construction of a  youth center - Blagoevgrad" is funded with BGN 4.28 million from the RRP.

The project envisages the construction and effective functioning of a modern Youth Center in Blagoevgrad, which will provide wide-ranging activities and services to help the personal development and employability of students and young people up to 29 years of age. The center will be an instrument for setting standards and an example of good practice for the implementation of youth policy at the local and regional level.

In the center, innovative approaches will be applied to develop competencies and skills that will help young people to successfully enter the labor market. Non-formal education will be one of the main approaches in youth work. With the planned training and educational activities, young people will develop knowledge and skills for active participation in democratic life and democratic processes and will get the opportunity to improve their personal, social, civic and digital competences and become active European citizens.

A major emphasis is placed on training in the field of green and digital transition and those to improve employability. The youth center will open up new opportunities for all young people, regardless of their educational, social, property, political and ethnic beliefs.

The main target group are students/youth aged 13 to 29, students at risk of dropping out or school dropouts, youth who are not studying, working or in another form of education, youth from social institutions, youth from other vulnerable groups, incl. Roma.

The secondary target group are youth workers, educational mediators and other staff, non-governmental sector and business representatives.

The project is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.
