Women’s employment

Dones RIU is a project led by SURT, a foundation that has been working with women for more than 25 years. It aims to improve employability and facilitate the integration into the labour market of women participating in two new emerging sectors: green and digital economies.

As part of this programme, unemployed women will receive personalised guidance to foster integration, a digital skills improvement workshop and a training programmes to choose between the green economy, the digital economy or a general pathway with a maximum duration of one year. Specifically, the green economy programme includes training and workshops to work in sectors such as organic farming and livestock farming, local trade and organic products, waste management and renewable energies, among others. The digital economy programme, for its part, addresses the creative, critical and safe use of information and communication technologies in areas such as digital trade, social media and marketing or the creation of digital content.

This project is part of the Recovery and Resilience Facility-funded support programme for women in rural and urban areas promoted by the Catalan Employment Service and aims to cover at least 3,508 people throughout Catalonia.
