The upgrade of the Grosuplje railway station - Increasing railway infrastructure capacity

The goal of the investment is to promote rail traffic and connectivity with city centres. The train station was upgraded and expanded to increase safety, improve accessibility, provide more comfort and safety to passengers, ensure infrastructure adapted to people with reduced mobility and reduce traffic bottlenecks.  

The total value of the investment is EUR 18.8 million (according to the adopted budget for 2023/2024), with Recovery and Resilience Facility funding of EUR 13.09 million. The works started in April 2021 and were finalised in July 2022. 

The upgrade of the Grosuplje railway station included: the construction of two new covered platforms, the upgrade of track equipment, the renovation of the main station building, the construction of an underground passage to the platforms, construction of a parking lot, construction of sound barriers and other infrastructure.
