The goal of the investment is to develop a new, innovative constriction material with a cement binder with the highest insulating properties and the lowest specific gravity compared to comparable materials in the industry in the world, made with a high content of concrete recyclate that remains in its own production. The recipient Varis Lendava d.o.o. is one of the most technologically advanced producers of prefabricated bathrooms in the world. With tje ULTRA-REC research and development project, the company is addressing the possibility of using waste concrete that is left over in their production process. The company wants to achieve a significant competitive and innovative leap in setting new trends in the production of prefabricated bathrooms, and at the same time indirectly contributing to mitigating climate change, as the innovation will reduce the amount of waste in landfills and promot a circular economy. The Recovery and Resilience Facility provides EUR 280,472 of funding to the project worth EUR 597,835 in total. The project started in December 2023 and will be finalised by the end of 2025.
