Thermal renovation of the Pavillon Gréard in the “Cité internationale universitaire de Paris”

The Pavillon Gréard was inaugurated in 1925 and is the oldest building of the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris. It has received a grant of EUR 7.9 million for deep thermal renovation works that enabled energy savings of 53% and improved the living comfort of the students. Classified as historic building, works were performed under the supervision of the “architecte des bâtiments de France”, in charge of the conservation of protected monuments. Several companies (mostly SMEs) worked on the insulation of the roof and attic, walls and the basement, and all windows were replaced by double-glazed windows with thermal break. The renovation works are on-going and will be completed by the summer 2023.

In total, the “Cité U” received financing for five renovation projects under the Recovery and Resilience Facility, for a total amount of EUR 24.9 million: Fondation Avicenne, Maison des étudiants arméniens, Maison de Monaco and Maison des Provinces de France.
