Copyright: Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sports The objective of the investments is to support sustainable tourism through improving the sustainability of tourist accommodation.The investment support the refurbishment, extension, or construction of tourist facilities in line with high energy-efficiency standards. Projects include mandatory training in quality of service and digital competences for staff and managers, marketing research, and economic analysis.The Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sports published a call for project proposals in September 2022. The call was divided into two sections:• Section 1: The co-financing of investments in a complete renovation or reconstruction of accommodation tourist infrastructure of higher and higher quality (3-5 - stars; in the following: * or 3-4 apples).• Section 2: The co-financing of investments in the construction of new accommodation establishments (i.e. new constructions) of accommodation tourist infrastructure of higher and high quality (3-5* or 3-4 apples).The subject of co-financing in both sections of the cal were investments related to following accommodation establishments:• hotels and motels that, after the investment is completed, will have at least 20 accommodation units (rooms/apartments) of category 3* or at least 30 accommodation units (rooms/apartments) of category at least 4*;• guesthouses and guesthouses that, after the investment is completed, will have at least 10 accommodation units (rooms/apartments) of at least 3* category;• tourist farms that, after the investment is completed, will have at least 5 accommodation units (rooms/apartments) of category 3 apples;• campsites that, after the investment is completed, will have at least 30 accommodation units (camping sites) of at least 4* category;• glamping sites that, after the investment is completed, will have at least 5 accommodation units (residential units) of at least 4* category.At least 50 % of the eligible costs of renovation or new construction had to be related to energy efficiency improvements. New buildings have to ensure that their primary energy demand is at least 20 % lower than requirement for nearly zero energy buildings.Out of 98 submitted proposals, the Ministry selected 60 for co-funding; 26 from Section 1 and 34 from Section 2.
