With an investment of nearly BGN 36 million (35,880,110.50 BGN) from the Recovery and Resilience Facility, Bulgaria supports scheme for increasing the energy efficiency in public buildings of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).
The scheme will lead to the renovation of 12 public buildings of the BAS: eight buildings from the Scientific Complex of the BAS - IV km., two buildings from the Scientific Complex of the BAS - VIII km., the central building of the Institute of Biology and Immunology of Reproduction, as well as the building stock of the National Museum of Natural History at “Tsar Osvoboditel” Blvd. № 1 and “Moskovska” St. № 6.
The 12 grant contracts will finance measures for sustainable energy renovation of public buildings owned by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, used for research and development activities, and buildings of public importance, related to preserving and popularizing the results of the academy's activities, with optimal employment levels achieved.
The project will lead to improvement of the energy performance of the national building stock by implementing sustainable, highly efficient energy measures.
Achieving at least 30% savings in primary energy consumption, limiting energy waste and lower carbon emissions.
Improvement of the conditions in the premises for the provision of services and work, positive social, health and environmental effects.
The implementation of the investment is expected to be completed by 30 June 2026.
