Copyright: Hydrogenizing The H2BCNHUB project involves the launch of a 20MW hydrogen hub to serve port logistics, the mobility sector, and industrial activities in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, specifically in Zona Franca, Martorell, and Mataró. It has the potential to produce enough green hydrogen for around 300 fuel cell trucks. H2BCNHUB will source water from treated wastewater and utilize solar energy. It is part of the Hydrogenizing BCN initiative, an international consortium comprising over 20 companies, research institutes, and public entities with the support of the Port of Barcelona. Hydrogenizing BCN will establish a network of 4 hydrogen hubs for heavy and long-distance transport in Barcelona, Zaragoza, Madrid, and Valencia.
