Strengthening the sustainable development of tourism

The objective of the reform is to respond to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and to provide the medium-term framework for developing a high-quality and high value-added tourism sector.

The reform entails the adoption of the Decree on development incentives for tourism in December 2021, which sets out sustainability conditions for public support in the sector. These include, inter alia, an energy performance certificate of at least class B for any renovations, obtaining at least one international eco-label, and for new buildings ensuring primary energy demand is at least 20 % lower than the requirement for nearly zero energy buildings.

Furthermore, the data monitoring and analysis capacity of the Green Tourism Scheme shall be strengthened by mid-2024.
