Strengthening social services at home to ensure early and assisted discharge and prevent hospitalisation

Support to vulnerable persons and prevention of institutionalisation (Mission 5, Component 2, Investment 1)

The Italy's Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes through this measure to support vulnerable persons and prevent institutionalisation.

The investment includes the following interventions: (I) support parenting skills and prevent vulnerability of families and children; (II) support independent living and deinstitutionalisation of the elderly; (II) strengthen home-based social services to ensure early discharge and prevent hospitalisation; (III) strengthen social services and prevent burnout of social workers.

This investment is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan with EUR 500 million.
