Silver house europa

PINQUA (Mission 5 Component 2 – Investment 2.3 )

The goal of the investment is to develop new public residential buildings to address housing challenges, especially focusing on existing public assets and revitalizing degraded areas.

The emphasis is on green innovation and sustainability.

The investment consists of two main strategies, both executed without using new land:

Upgrading and expanding social housing, enhancing urban quality, improving accessibility and safety, addressing housing shortages, and boosting environmental quality.

This involves employing innovative models and tools for urban management, inclusion, and well-being.

Targeted initiatives on public residential buildings with significant strategic impact nationally.

The selection of funding proposals will be based on indicators that assess the environmental, social, cultural, urban-territorial, economic-financial, and technological-processual impacts of the projects.

The investment is financed by the Recovery and resilience plan by EUR 1.4 billion.

This project Silver House Europa is part of this investment.

The project developed consists of a complete overhaul of the spaces in order to create a social square that can allow users to enjoy a common space now used only as a "transit space."

The portion of the square will be completely repaved using stone material in slabs laid to run, new flower beds will be installed which will contain plants completely consistent with the species already present along the bike path of the nearby C.so Nizza and C.so Brunet.

During the design phase, special attention was paid to the disposal of rainwater, the design idea was to perform a "depaving," i.e., de-impermeabilizing the soil, where possible, replacing the asphalt (impermeable, and where rainfall is channeled into the municipal disposal network) with a pavement from whose joints most rainwater can permeate into the soil, in order not to burden the city disposal network.

It was taken into account that in the vicinity of the buildings the paving will prevent water from coming into contact with the foundations of the buildings themselves.

The square thus created will be embellished with street furniture of the type already used in the redevelopment of C.so Giolitti, in addition, in collaboration with the commerce sector of the City of Cuneo, a "smart bench" will be installed, i.e., a bench that besides having a cell phone charging station and a data connection usable by users, will be able to transmit on a special led screen both institutional messages and advertisements of the businesses present in the vicinity.
