School building security and structural rehabilitation plan (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 3.3)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan contributes to climate recovery also by enhancing school buildings’ safety and energy consumption. In particular, this measure aims to contribute to the improvement of energy classes and leading to lower consumption and CO2 emissions as well as to increase structural safety of buildings. Particular attention is paid to the most disadvantaged areas with the aim of tackling and eliminating economic and social imbalances. The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 4.4 billion.Demolition and reconstruction of the lower secondary school building and gymnasium, with the construction of a new NZEB is part of this investment. The design of the new school building has been developed with the understanding that the modern concept of education must adapt to new learning methods, for which the traditional system of classrooms and corridors is now outdated. The goal is to create an environment that is dynamic, flexible, constantly evolving, open to new technologies, and well integrated within the social context.Today, there is a growing need to view the school as a single, integrated space in which different learning environments dedicated to various activities share equal importance. These spaces must be adaptable and flexible, able to accommodate people and activities at any time while ensuring functionality, comfort, and well-being.This project is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility with EUR 5.988.000,00 ReferenceM4C1Project locations Italy EU contribution€5 988 000 Project websitehttps://pnrr.istruzione.it/intervento/comune-di-nettuno-228054/
