Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.1)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality.The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.The project aimed at renovating a former nursery school in Colle Spinello is part of this investment.The project is aimed at improving infrastructure and services as it is a building of old construction on which radical seismic improvement and/or adjustment of any kind have been carried out, if not extremely urgent, like following the earthquake of 31/10/2002 and subsequent.The funds allocated to this project amount to € 400,000.00 and they not only provided for the seismic adaptation of the structures but also for the conversion of the building into a multipurpose center.At present the work is being carried out, the construction works started in September 2023 and are expected to last approximately nine months.
