A School for the City - The New Canteen of the State Comprehensive School of Busseto

Plan for the extension of full-time (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.2)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the extension of school time, in order to increase the educational offer of schools and make them open and available to the territory beyond school hours. 

The measure envisages the construction or renovation of canteen spaces for at least 1 000 structures to allow for the extension of school time. Extended schooling hours are expected to have a positive impact on the fight against early school leaving.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1 billion.

The project consisting of the construction of the new canteen at the Istituto Comprensivo Statale is part of this investment. 

The project  is aimed at responding to a requirement of the school complex, which currently presents a canteen on the first floor some premises, however not suitable for use, also with the objective to revise the teaching methods and increasing the demand for full time.

NRRP funds amount to EUR 393.800.

Work is in progress and should be completed in spring 2024
