A school for the city – the new canteen of the comprehensive state school in Busseto

Plan for the extension of full-time (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.2)

Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan provides for the extension of school time, in order to increase the educational offer of schools and make them open and available to the territory beyond school hours. The measure envisages the construction or renovation of canteen spaces for at least 1 000 structures to allow for the extension of school time. Extended schooling hours are expected to have a positive impact on the fight against early school leaving.

The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 1 billion.

As part of this investment, the objective of the project, through the construction of the new school canteen, is to meet the needs of the school complex, which currently uses some first-floor rooms as a cafeteria that are, however, unsuitable for this purpose. The project also aligns with the revision of teaching methods and the growing demand for full-time schooling. This project is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Facility with EUR 393.800,00
