Satellite internet in rural areas.

The UNICO Rural Demand program, funded with 76 million euros from the NextGenerationEU fund, will bring 100% broadband connection to rural and sparsely populated areas across the country.

The program aims to offer a connection service with a data download capacity of 100 Mbps per month at an affordable price to any citizen, municipality, small and medium-sized enterprise, self-employed individual, or non-profit organization, provided they do not have coverage of fixed terrestrial connection (fiber or cable).

Hispasat will deploy the necessary satellite infrastructure to provide the service and facilitate its installation and operation through operators.

The program aims to close the digital divide and enable citizens to develop their professional and personal projects, regardless of where they live.

It is expected to benefit a total of 1.2 million Spanish households.
