RETECH IA

The RETECH initiative, which is part of the Spain Digital Agenda 2026, coordinates various regional projects aimed at digital transformation and specialisation, ensuring coordination and co-governance to promote trans-regional projects. 

The goal of the project is to achieve a high economic and social impact through the involvement of SMEs, companies and large corporations in the technology sector, startups, the third sector, local entities and other institutional agents. 

The initiative involves projects related to artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.  

RETECH IA includes 13 initiatives and has a budget of 258,8 million euro:    

• AI Value Chains: Optimisation of value chains in strategic sectors of the economy 

• Blockchain Services Infrastructure: Construction of a national blockchain technology network. 

• Digital Twins: Acceleration of entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystems based on digital twins. 

• Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence Plan for the Historic Heritage of Cantabria and Asturias: Artificial intelligence applied to the management of pre-historic heritage. 

• Knowledge Heritage Network: Intelligent services in the cultural heritage sector. 

• Network of Artificial Intelligence Hubs: Development of artificial intelligence technology by companies and institutions. 

• Online agro-food platform: Acceleration of the digital transformation process in the agro-food sector. 

• RETECHFOR: Digital and territorial network for monitoring forests and reducing environmental disasters as a way to develop the forest-based bioeconomy. 

• Smart Digital Health: Solutions in the field of assistive robotics. 

• Spain Living Lab, artificial intelligence in the tourism sector: Programme to develop AI applied to the tourism sector and human behaviour. 

• TechFabLab, entrepreneurship network: Creation of a node-based interconnected network in which each Autonomous Community will be a node. 

• TriRuralTech: Entrepreneurial ecosystem for a smart rural and marine territory.
