Copyright: Brussels Mobility The Good Move regional mobility plan aims to reduce the number of journeys made by private car by 25% by 2030. To achieve this, the Brussels Capital Region needs to switch to sustainable modes of transport. The aim is to increase the number of kilometres travelled on foot and by bicycle by 10%.The modal shift towards sustainable modes of transport will ensure more liveable cities, a boost to the local economy, cleaner air and a healthier population, greater comfort and safety for cyclists, and a reduction in CO2 emissions. The main objective of this investment is to complete and improve the PLUS cycle network on both regional and municipal roads. This network is part of the Good Move mobility plan and enables medium- and long-distance travel in and around the Brussels Capital Region. The projects allow existing facilities to be extended to form complete itineraries. Once this basic structure is complete, the entire Region will be served by a high-quality network.Brussels Mobility is allocating €20 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility to the construction of 11.7 km of new cycle paths and 4.5 km of upgraded paths, as well as the creation of 7,000 public cycle parking spaces.Implementation is due to be completed by 2026.Additional links:https://mobilite-mobiliteit.brussels/fr/news/des-pistes-cyclables-suppl…Top 100 recipients:Diensten van de Regering van het Brussels Gewest - Services du Gouvernement de la Région bruxelloise ReferenceI-3.03Project locations Belgium EU contribution€20 000 000 Project websitehttps://nextgenbelgium.be/nl...
